Swedish paytech Zimpler names Stefan Andersson as chief product officer
Swedish paytech Zimpler has named Stefan Andersson as its new chief product officer (CPO).
In the newly created role of CPO, Andersson will lead the fintech’s product roadmap and focus on the firm’s “expansion agenda” in Europe and establishing the product in Latin America.
Leveraging his 14 years of payments industry experience, Andersson will also be tasked with developing new products and features that cater to segments such as financial services and e-commerce.
He has worked across multiple countries at companies such as Swedbank and Loomis, and tested, certified and deployed the first chip reading payment terminals in Sweden in 2006, the S3000 and the Xenta.
Andersson will join Zimpler’s leadership team and will report directly to CEO Johan Strand.
Strand says Andersson’s “diverse background” will help drive the firm’s growth agenda adaptation for account-to-account (A2A) in multiple segments and use cases. “The appointment of chief product officer will help us in building and delivering user-centric products and services that align with the market demand and end users’ needs.”
CPO Andersson believes A2A payments, “which skyrocketed in recent years, have extreme potential on a global scale”.
Zimpler offers instant A2A payment solutions used by merchants within various segments including travel,
e-commerce, and the creator economy.
Last year, the firm raised new equity funding from Nordstjernan Growth. Nordstjernan joined Zimpler’s previous investors, which include Inbox Capital and CNI, to become a minority owner.
