Wearable paytech Digiseq names Angela Davies as head of partnerships
Wearable tech firm Digiseq has appointed Angela Davies as its new head of partnerships as the firm looks to capitalise on a market expected to grow more than $150 billion in the next decade.
Davies joins Digiseq as head of partnerships – financial services, a role to which she will bring more than two decades’ worth of expertise in the payment industry.
Digiseq’s tech places a chip with prepaid contactless functionality inside a wearable item, allowing for secure customer payments in the same way that contactless and NFC mobile payments are protected.
Digiseq places the market value of wearables to be $171.38 billion by 2032.
In her new role, Davies will use her “wealth of expertise” and connections to promote Digiseq services to banks, issuers and processors, as well as provide support to service providers as the firm looks to expand its international footprint.
Davies says her remit at the firm is to boost the number of banks and issuers signed up to Digiseq’s digital wallet, “using my contacts and reputation within the industry to get in front of those players as quickly as possible”.
“With payments driving the use of wearables into other areas, such as ID and access, I truly believe Digiseq could be a real game changer.”
