Wealth app Chip appoints Gina Silvester as new COO
UK-based wealth app Chip has appointed Gina Silvester as its new chief operating officer (COO). She will replace outgoing COO Sharon Miles, who is joining OakNorth Bank as its new group COO.
Silvester has over 20 years of experience working in the banking and financial services industry. In her previous role, she served as COO of Triplepoint, where she was responsible for the company’s operations and strategic initiatives. She has also worked at Handelsbanken as the COO of its UK operations.
At Chip, Silvester will be tasked with managing the company’s day-to-day operations including product development, customer service and growth initiatives, working closely with CEO Simon Rabin.
Commenting on Silvester’s appointment, Rabin says: “Her extensive experience in the financial services industry, coupled with her track record of driving operational excellence, makes her the perfect fit for the role.”
Founded in 2017, Chip offers savings and investment products to consumers via a mobile app. It claims over 500,000 active users and manages over £1 billion in assets. In October 2021, it raised £11.5 million in a crowdfunding round.
