ClearBank names former PayPal exec as new chief product officer
UK-based clearing and embedded banking platform ClearBank has appointed Spiros Theodossiou as its new chief product officer (CPO).
Theodossiou boasts over 20 years of financial services experience and joins ClearBank from cloud accounting platform Dext, where he also served as CPO.
Prior to that, he was SVP of product management at WorldPay for over three years. He also previously served as head of EMEA product operations and senior product manager at PayPal following stints at Paysafe Group and VoucherCodes.
In his new role, Theodossiou will lead ClearBank’s global product strategy and create and execute its product roadmap as the firm plots its expansion into new markets.
Commenting on his appointment, Theodossiou says there are “phenomenal” growth opportunities for ClearBank in the UK and internationally, adding that he plans to work closely with the company’s clients “to understand their needs” and “help take our vision to new markets”.
Last week, ClearBank announced its annual results, which revealed the firm “nearly tripled” its income to £58 million in 2022 despite challenging macroeconomic conditions.
The strong results come after the company announced it had achieved monthly profitability for the first time in Q4 last year.
