Greenpeace taps Nexi Greece for digital payment security services
Nexi Greece, part of Italian paytech giant Nexi Group, has partnered with environmental organisation Greenpeace to provide secure payment services for Greenpeace supporters.
The group will utilise Nexi’s tokenisation solution, which swaps out the payment data of Greek Greenpeace supporters with unique strings of symbols to boost security across card, remote and mobile payments.
The tech ensures full payment functionality is upheld while sensitive data is obscured throughout the process. This reduces the exposure of the original sensitive payment information, which will be stored in Nexi’s protected infrastructure.
The solution helps prevent the growing threat of payment card theft, Nexi says, and reduces the risk of data breaches. It adds its offering complies with all payment security requirements, including PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).
Nexi Greece managing director Dionysis Grigoratos says tokenisation is a “powerful tool” in a world where data breaches and cyber threats are becoming increasingly common.
“This solution allows clients and partners to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and focus on their core businesses,” Grigoratos adds.
Earlier this year, Nexi acquired 80% of Banco Sabadell’s merchant acquiring business in an all-cash deal worth €280 million, valuing the business at €350 million.
