IG Group names Adam Wheelwright as new CTO
Fintech firm IG Group has appointed Adam Wheelwright as its new chief technology officer (CTO), effective 17 April 2023.

Wheelwright brings “extensive” experience to his new role, having delivered technology projects across financial services firms.
In his previous role, Wheelwright was the chief information officer (CIO) of the UK Health Security Agency and a member of the executive committee for NHS Test and Trace since 2021. There, he was responsible for the design, delivery, and evolution of all technological solutions supporting the nation’s pandemic response.
Prior to that, he served as a managing director at NatWest Group, where he co-founded the digital retail bank Bó and served as its chief operating officer (COO). He was also the chief administrative officer of NatWest Markets, the capital markets arm of the group.
For IG Group, Wheelwright will be based in London and will help drive the company’s innovation agenda.
