OMO Bank revamps core banking system with Oracle and Profinch
Ethiopia-based Omo Bank is modernising its core banking software with Oracle FS and its integration partner Profinch.
The bank will implement the Flexcube core banking system as well as new fraud prevention and anti-money laundering (AML) software.
On the way out is the legacy Rubikon system from regional supplier Neptune Software, it is understood.
Omo Bank started its operations in the mid-1990s and today has a network of around 200 outlets across Ethiopia, focusing on supporting the country’s low-income population and promoting financial inclusion.
Oracle FS and Profinch have been working together on various core banking modernisation projects in Africa recently, including at Union Bancaire pour le Commerce et l’Industrie (UBCI) in Tunisia and ZamZam Bank in Ethiopia (the country’s first Islamic bank).
