PostFinance partners Sygnum for digital asset banking services
Switzerland-based PostFinance, the financial arm of the country’s postal service, has partnered with Sygnum Bank to offer regulated digital asset banking services to customers.
The partnership with Sygnum means PostFinance customers can now buy, store and sell regulated, bank-grade cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum via Sygnum’s B2B banking platform.
Sygnum Bank’s chief B2B officer Fritz Jost says the firm’s platform enables partners to expand their range of regulated digital asset services “at scale and speed”.
Sygnum’s regulated B2B banking offering also enables PostFinance to introduce new revenue-generating services on an ongoing basis, such as cryptocurrency staking.
PostFinance chief investment officer Philipp Merkt says digital assets have become “integral” to the financial world and therefore its customers want access to this market.
Sygnum provides a suite of integrated digital asset financial products and services, including bank-grade digital asset custody and fiat rails, spot and options trading, cryptocurrency-backed fiat loans, digital asset management products, asset tokenisation solutions and B2B banking for regulated financial institutions.
