Global Payments promotes COO Cameron Bready to CEO
Paytech and software solutions provider Global Payments has promoted chief operating officer (COO) Cameron Bready to the post of CEO. Bready will also join the company’s board.
Bready is succeeding Jeffrey Sloan, who is stepping down as CEO and as a member of the board from 1 June, after nearly a decade in the role.
Bready joined Global Payments in 2014 as chief financial officer (CFO), and has served as president and COO since 2019, overseeing its global merchant solutions business, operations, risk management, products and real estate. Prior to that, he served as CFO at ITC Holdings Corp.
In his new role, Bready will be tasked with enhancing the company’s competitive positioning, leveraging growth opportunities, driving strategy and leading the company in its next phase of growth.
“With the closing of our acquisition of EVO Payments and divestitures of our Netspend consumer and gaming solutions businesses, we have successfully completed our strategic pivot to simplify our businesses, focus on our core corporate customers and provide enhanced confidence in our growth and margin targets,” says Sloan.
