Mozido LLC, an Austin, Texas-based startup providing cloud-based, white-label mobile payments services for banks and merchants, has signed a multiyear deal for access to the cloud infrastructure and hosted IT solutions of Savvis, a subsidiary of telecom CenturyLink.
“By leveraging Savvis’ leading cloud and hosting infrastructure, we will enable customers in the mobile payment ecosystem to quickly implement and scale as their businesses grow, while ensuring the quality of their IT systems and operations,” said Greg Corona, Mozido CEO and president.
Earlier this month, Mozido announced its acquisition of Cedar Park, Texas-based PagoVision Inc., which provides check-cashing services to unbanked and immigrant consumers through a network of 1,500 U.S. merchants.
“The PagoVision deal was about building an initial entry point into the U.S. market and to [establish] a business foundation upon which [Mozido] can grow, and the Savvis deal gives them scalable infrastructure,” Rick Oglesby, Aite Group senior analyst, tells Paybefore. “The two deals are key building blocks that need to be in place for them to hit the market with a solid base beneath them.”
