PFS Introduces Mobile App for Prepaid MasterCard Customers (July 2, 2013)
July 2, 2013
London-based Prepaid Financial Services (PFS) today announced a new mobile app for its PFS Prepaid MasterCard customers enabling users to store and manage their prepaid cards through a mobile digital wallet controlled through a smartphone. The Pocket to Pocket mobile app is initially available for the Apple iOS platform; an Android version is planned for release later this year. The Pocket to Pocket app enables users to load a virtual prepaid card with funds from a credit or debit card or with a voucher from a participating merchant, and also makes it easy for users to send funds to other PFS cardholders. Users can check their balances and review transaction history through the app, which includes tools to locate the nearest Payzone outlet where users may top up and withdraw funds from the prepaid wallet. An ATM finder is also built into the app. “Users can send and receive money in seconds, without having to enter any card details and the ability to create virtual cards provides them with greater security for online shopping,” according to PFS CEO Noel Moran. PFS also offers a white-label version of the app to financial services providers.
PFS, which issues the PFS Prepaid MasterCard, is a 2012 Paybefore Award Europe winner for Breakout Company of the Year.
