July 18, 2013
Responding to growing demand for digital gift cards, CardCash.com has revamped its system for handling electronic gift card sales, including beefing up bulwarks against fraud, the company said. Brick, N.J.-based CardCash.com, launched in 2008, specializes in reselling unused consumer gift cards via the secondary market. In June CashCard introduced an “e-code” sale system to streamline the process of reselling unused electronic gift cards, according to the company. CardCash this month added new “fraud filters” to block fraudulent sellers from using its services, said Mark Ackerman, CardCash.com’s chief operating officer. The growth rate for digital gift cards in the secondary market continues to rise, the company said.
