Ukash Bolsters Retail Presence in Italy with Epipoli (Aug. 5, 2013)

Online cash payment provider Ukash has struck a deal that will expand its retail network across Italy. The London-based company’s new partnership with prepaid distributor and producer Epipoli gives Ukash entry to the 145 locations of grocery retailer Esselunga in which Epipoli is already present, along with the firm’s other retail partners. Through the Epipoli relationship, consumers will be able to purchase Ukash codes in stores that can then be used to make online purchases.
Epipoli’s presence in Esselunga stores dates back to 2008. The grocery chain processes more than 170 million transactions per year, and was the first retail chain in Italy to introduce online shopping solutions.
Paybefore Award-winning Ukash has expanded its retail network around the globe over the past several months. In July, the company inked deals in Brazil with Petrobas and other independent retailers to enable customers to purchase vouchers in-store. The same month, Ukash struck a pact in the Netherlands with e-business solutions provider H@ND.
