People on the Move: Melissa D. Smith, WEX Inc.

WEX Inc., a provider of corporate payment solutions, has named Melissa D. Smith CEO. She also will serve on the WEX Board of Directors and maintain her role as president. Michael E. Dubyak, previous WEX chairman and CEO, has been appointed to the newly created role of WEX executive chairman of the board, which he will hold through December 31, 2014. The moves complete the succession plan previously announced by WEX in May 2013. Smith has 16 years of experience in the payments space and has held various positions of increasing responsibility across all facets of the company, including finance, operations, international and general management.
