British Firm Exports Big Data Solutions to Fight Fraud, Improve Customer Service (May 6, 2014)
Nobody questions whether big data has a role to play in the payments industry, but many providers are grappling with how to capture and analyze the right data to improve their businesses. A U.K. firm is hopping the Pond to bring its big data expertise to the U.S., with a particular focus on fighting fraud and improving customer service. Manchester-based Insider Technologies is offering its SENTRA software application to American banks and payment providers, which can use the platform’s real-time data collection and analysis to detect suspicious activity that can head off fraud and spot other problems, including customer service issues, early.
The company’s U.K. client roster includes major names, such as Barclays, WorldPay and the British Government. In light of recent data breaches and the transition to EMV still in progress, Insider Technologies views the U.S. as fertile ground for expansion. “There is a great need for innovative, highly cost-effective and efficient big data system monitoring solutions,” noted John Bycroft, executive vice president, Insider Technologies.
