People on the Move: Tim Sloane and Ben Jackson, Mercator Advisory Group
Mercator Advisory Group has appointed Tim Sloane vice president of payments innovation. Sloane, a founding member of Mercator Advisory Group, will be responsible for oversight of payments innovation themes across services and will have direct responsibility for and oversight of content and service in the Emerging Technologies Advisory Service and Prepaid Advisory Service. He served as director of the Prepaid Advisory Service and will continue to work with members of that service in addition to members of the Emerging Technology Advisory Service.
Ben Jackson, formerly senior analyst, has been promoted to director of the Prepaid Advisory Service, reporting to Sloane. Prior to joining Mercator, Jackson worked as an independent consultant for numerous clients supporting strategic product and business planning and research needs including the National Community Investment Fund for which he documented the workings of the prepaid card industry and outlined go-to-market strategies to aide banks in developing business plans for using prepaid cards to serve the unbanked.
