People on the Move: Joshua Goines and Thien Truong, Green Dot Corp.
Green Dot Corp. has named Joshua Goines general manager of GoBank. He will be responsible for GoBank’s overall strategy and operations. Goines previously served as senior director, head of retail market development at PayPal, where he oversaw strategy and execution to grow PayPal’s retail offline business. He also served as chief financial officer at Tempo Payments Inc., a company in the decoupled debit card niche that was named top financial services startup by Fast Company and was acquired by Vantiv.
The company also hired Thien Truong as senior vice president of business development and sales. He will manage products in various channels to help Green Dot identify new business partnerships and grow existing relationships. Truong most recently served as vice president of retail and mall channels for the U.S. payment options group at American Express, where he led the expansion of the brand’s prepaid solutions, including the nationwide launch of its Serve prepaid card.
