InComm to Offer Digital Retail Cards through SEQR Wallet (June 30, 2014)
Just months after landing a mobile app partnership with McDonald’s in Sweden, Stockholm-based developer Seamless has reached a deal with U.S.-based technology company and prepaid distributor InComm. The pact will enable InComm’s retailer clients to digitize their closed-loop gift and loyalty cards within Seamless’ SEQR mobile wallet app in the U.S., capitalizing on rising demand for digital gift cards. A recent study commissioned by InComm found that 46 percent of Americans are interested in storing digital gift cards on mobile devices, while 40 percent prefer to have a digital gift card scanned from their devices rather than carrying a printed email. The collaboration also will enable SEQR users to purchase digital gift cards, music, movies and books directly via the SEQR app, helping retailers build loyalty with on-the-go customers.
