iZettle, Cover Land Fundings (July 14, 2014)
Swedish mPOS provider iZettle has added €5 million (US$6.8 million) to its coffers, after the latest investment in the company’s Series C round of funding. The infusion, from Hasso Plattner Ventures, brings iZettle’s overall capital raised to more than US$118 million since its founding in 2011. The company will use the new funding to expand its business in existing markets and expand to new regions.
Meanwhile, New York City-based dining payment startup Cover scored a $5.5 million investment of its own. Billed as an “Uber-style” payment system for dining, Cover partners with eateries to enable users to pay bills directly from their mobile device, using a linked payment card. The Series A funding was led by Spark Capital.
