Global Payout to Acquire M-Payments Provider Focused on Underserved (Aug. 19, 2014)
Global Payout Inc., an electronic payment and prepaid solutions provider, today announced plans to acquire Maxie Mobile LLC, a global mobile payments provider focused on the underserved. The acquisition, scheduled to close within 30 days, will expand Global Payout’s MoneyTrac payment platform and international EMV debit card programs, according to the company. Using Maxie Mobile’s free mobile payment smartphone app, customers can pay bills, cash checks, top up prepaid phones, send money to 120 countries and make free long distance calls. Users also receive a prepaid debit card for ATM access and for purchases online and at the POS. Additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
