People on the Move: Anil Aggarwal and Jonathan Weiner, Oak Investment Partners
Private equity firm Oak Investment Partners has named Anil Aggarwal and Jonathan Weiner advisors to its Oak HC/FT Fund, a health care and financial technology investment fund that closed a $500 million round of funding last June. Aggarwal and Weiner, Paybefore Awards 2012 Industry Achievement winners, are venture partners in Oak HC/FT and will advise on investment prospects in the fintech sector. Aggarwal and Weiner have a history of working with Oak, which was a principal backer of TxVia, a payments technology company founded by the pair and acquired by Google. They are currently working on the third annual Money20/20 event, which they also founded.
Aggarwal most recently was global head of payments business development at Google and Weiner head of global business development, Google Wallet and Payments, following the acquisition of TxVia by Google. The pair also founded Prepaid Media, which is now Paybefore, an IIR USA company. In addition, Aggarwal founded and served as the first chairman of the NBPCA.
