Barclaycard Beefs Up Loyalty/Rewards Capabilities with Logic Group Buy (Sept. 8, 2014)
Barclaycard, the global payments business of U.K.-based Barclays, announced today it’s acquiring The Logic Group, a U.K.-based payments and loyalty company. In the deal, Barclaycard clients will benefit from The Logic Group’s loyalty and rewards programs and data insights technology, among other products and services, according to the announcement. Barclaycard also will invest to jointly develop new offerings, which can be marketed to clients of both businesses. The Logic Group will have access to Barclaycard’s broad merchant base to distribute its products. The acquisition, scheduled to close in the fourth quarter of this year, includes The Logic Group’s businesses in the U.K. and Spain, according to reports. Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.
