InteliSpend Launches MasterCard Prepaid Line in Canada (Sept, 17, 2014)
InteliSpend Prepaid Solutions is bringing its MasterCard corporate and incentives prepaid products to Canada, the company has announced. Included in the Canadian launch are the Paybefore Award-winning Universal MasterCard Prepaid Card with 5% Back and the Preferences MasterCard Prepaid Card. Vancouver, B.C.-based Peoples Trust Company will issue both cards. InteliSpend already works with Peoples Trust on its existing Visa-branded products in Canada.
The Canadian prepaid market is on the rise, largely driven by the corporate spending and incentives sectors. “Prepaid cards are becoming increasingly popular to [Canadian] businesses looking for innovative, safe and secure ways to reward their employees, partners and customers,” noted Tom McTague, vice president, prepaid, MasterCard Canada. InteliSpend and parent company Blackhawk Network have been active in the Canadian market for several years.
Blackhawk is expanding its B2B incentives business in the U.S. as well. Earlier this week, the company announced the acquisition of CardLab Inc., a provider of customizable prepaid incentive and reward cards.
