Visa Boosts Technology Strategy with Recruitment, Tech Facility (Sept. 25, 2014)
Visa Inc. is bolstering its technology resources by creating 2,000 full-time technologist positions and opening a technology development center in India next year. Visa’s investments in technology will enable the company to strengthen its talent pool globally, bring more of the talent in-house, accelerate the shift to electronic payments and drive innovation in mobile and digital platforms, according to the payments network.
The added positions will combine new roles and existing contractor positions converted to full-time roles. Visa plans to recruit professional technologists, many in specialized areas, to enhance its teams in India, Singapore and four U.S. locations. Recruitment efforts, currently underway and continuing through 2017, will focus on technology needs spanning data scientists, engineers, platform architects and mobile developers.
Teams at the new tech center will focus on developing APIs and SDKs, helping an expanding group of global partners to more easily access the VisaNet electronic payments processing network when creating commerce and payment products and services. The first set of these new developer tools will be publicly released before the end of 2014.
