UGO Wallet Available to Customers of Canada’s Largest Telecoms (Dec. 1, 2014)
UGO Wallet, an NFC mobile wallet developed by UGO Mobile Solutions and Canadian banks President’s Choice Financial and TD Bank Group, launched last week and is available to customers of Canada’s three largest wireless carriers—Bell Canada, Rogers Communications Inc. and TELUS Corp. The wallet, announced last year, works with a variety of NFC-enabled Android and BlackBerry 10 devices, and the wallet’s availability at Bell, Rogers and TELUS opens it up to the lion’s share of approximately 27 million mobile customers in the country.
UGO app users can load TD Bank and PC Financial credit cards into their mobile wallets and tap their phones to pay at merchants accepting Visa payWave and MasterCard PayPass. The wallet has integrated the PC Plus loyalty program, enabling consumers to receive and redeem PC points when they purchase eligible President’s Choice-brand grocery items. Other loyalty programs are expected to be added soon.
“Unlike any other mobile payment offerings currently available to Canadians, UGO has two participating banks, operates on both Visa and MasterCard payment networks and is supported by Canada’s three biggest network carriers, while integrating the extremely popular PC Plus loyalty program,” said Alec Morley, CEO of UGO Mobile Solutions.
