LevelUp Completes NCR Silver Integration, Rolls Out Gift Card Feature (Dec. 16, 2014)
NCR Corp. today announced the NCR Silver POS system now includes a feature enabling merchants to easily add LevelUp, the mobile payments and loyalty network, to customer payment options. Once NCR Silver merchants activate the LevelUp application within their POS platform, customers immediately have the option to pay using their smartphones by scanning a QR code generated by the LevelUp app. The integration primarily targets small businesses and fast-casual restaurants looking for a simple way to accept mobile payments, Duluth, Georgia-based NCR said.
LevelUp also said this month it has fully rolled out its gift card capabilities, first announced last summer. The Boston-based company has added a module to its platform enabling participating merchants to offer reloadable physical and digital gift cards available for purchase in-store, in-app or online. LevelUp’s merchants may sell merchant-specific and general LevelUp physical gift cards, each featuring a QR code senders may activate at the POS by loading value to the card. Senders also may deliver a digital LevelUp gift card to recipients via email. LevelUp claims 14,000 participating merchants and nearly 2 million active users.
