PayPal Expands Credit Options, Introduces Retail Consulting Services (Jan. 13, 2015)
PayPal this week rolled out a set of enriched features for PayPal Credit and introduced a new Business Consulting service to enhance retailers’ e-commerce operations. PayPal Credit, which PayPal unveiled last summer as part of its rebranding of Bill Me Later, now offers credit payment options retailers can tailor by deciding on the number of months and interest rate that work best for their customers. PayPal also is introducing the opportunity for retailers to extend interest-free credit to customers for online purchases, the company said. Merchants are paid immediately when customers make purchases using PayPal Credit, and PayPal settles with the customer. PayPal made the announcements at the National Retail Federation’s BIG Show in New York.
PayPal also announced a new consulting service to help businesses improve online sales practices and reduce shopping cart abandonment, including driving more international sales, the company said. Previously these services were only available to certain merchants, but now all retailers, regardless of their size, can take advantage of them.
