Orange Cash Comes to Spain with Wirecard Support (May 7, 2015)
Wirecard Group will support the launch of mobile operator Orange’s Orange Cash mobile payments service in Spain. Germany-based Wirecard will provide the e-money and scheme license for Orange Cash, along with the technical platform for managing the mobile payments app. Wirecard already provides support for the French version of Orange Cash, which recently received a 2015 Paybefore Award for European M-Wallet of the Year.
Orange Cash’s NFC-based wallet, which enables in-store payments via a virtual prepaid Visa card issued by Wirecard, is accepted at more than 530,000 stores in Spain. Users also receive merchant incentives and targeted offers and can sign up to make P2P payments to other Orange Cash users.
