InComm Sets Down Roots in Austria with TibiDono Buy (Jan. 6, 2016)
Prepaid product and transaction services company InComm has expanded its European footprint with yesterday’s acquisition of TibiDono, a Salzburg, Austria-based marketing and gift card distribution company. TibiDono will be a wholly owned subsidiary of InComm and will continue its operations in Salzburg. Additional details of the acquisition were not available.
“This acquisition strengthens InComm’s presence in the European market and enhances our international retail partnerships,” said Frank Monaco, InComm executive vice president and general manager, international. “TibiDono has a strong reputation and has built a stellar business within the Austrian market.”
Last summer, InComm expanded its offerings in Europe in a deal with Asda, the U.K.-based subsidiary of Walmart, by adding its gift card malls in 26 Asda Living stores, which offer consumers Asda’s non-food products, including clothing, housewares, health and beauty products, music and video, and toys.
InComm entered the European market in 2006, and claims to be the largest prepaid distributor in Europe, providing more than 200 products to more than 17,500 store locations in 14 countries, according to the company.
The acquisition of TibiDono follows Atlanta-based InComm’s announcement in December that it has earmarked $20 million for investments in facilities and equipment, and for hiring an additional 275 employees in Georgia.
Rival Blackhawk Network expanded its European reach in November with the acquisition of DIDIX Gifting & Promotions, a Netherlands-based provider of prepaid cards that can be used to pay for services at regional retailers, restaurants, cinemas and spas across the Netherlands, U.K., Germany and Belgium.
