Ingenico Continues Omnichannel Push with Startup Buy
Ingenico Group has acquired Think&Go NFC, a startup specializing in enabling digital displays to interact with connected objects like smartphone and transit passes. The companies began working together in 2015, using contactless technology to turn digital advertising displays into POS locations in stores, shopping malls, train stations and airports. The technology gives retailers an additional sales channel and increases convenience for shoppers, according to Ingenico. Think&Go currently has 150 screens deployed, a number projected to increase twentyfold over the next three years with the company now under the Ingenico umbrella. Think&Go will continue to be managed by Vincent Berge, who founded the company in 2010, and will operate within Ingenico Labs, the POS provider’s innovation arm.
The acquisition of Think&Go is part of Ingenico’s plan to strengthen its omnichannel presence over the next several years. In early 2015, Ingenico acquired m-POS provider ROAM, a company in which Ingenico already owned a controlling interest. Ingenico is a 2016 Pay Awards winner for Best M-POS Solution.
