People on the Move: Carl Gish, Affirm
San Francisco-based Affirm has hired former eBay vice president Carl Gish to be its first chief marketing officer. In the new role, Gish will be responsible for enhancing and building Affirm’s global brand as the financial technology company begins expanding beyond point-of-sale payments. Gish has more than 25 years of marketing and general management experience—most recently at eBay, where he served as vice president of global delivery experience and local. Prior to eBay, he was CEO of Folica, an online retailer in the premium beauty and hair care category. Gish also held executive positions at Dyson, Unilever and Amazon.
Founded in 2013, Affirm partners with retailers to enables shoppers to fund purchases by making simple monthly payments. Later this year, the company plans to roll out additional financial services directly to consumers and will announce the addition of more merchant partners.
