People on the Move: Leonore Van Waaij, Backbase
Omnichannel digital banking technology provider Backbase has hired Leonore Van Waaij to be the company’s new chief financial officer, heading all of the firm’s financial, legal and compliance operations. With 15 years of experience in finance, controlling and auditing, Van Waaij most recently served as CFO at The Phone House, where she spent more than three years managing and overseeing all financial and commercial operations. Prior to that, she worked for several multinational companies, such as Deloitte and Schiphol Airport Authority, with a focus on improving operations and maximizing profits through the restructuring of finance management, IT systems, costs and productivity. Headquartered in Amsterdam, Backbase works with major global financial institutions, including Barclays, Goldman Sachs and Fidelity.
