People on the Move: Eric Choi, Cause Mobile Wallet
Cause Mobile Wallet, a mobile wallet that creates sustainable funding for charitable causes, has announced the appointment of Eric Choi as president. Choi brings to the role more than 25 years of experience in the finance industry, working with firms including Jeffries and Co. and McDonald Investments. Most recently, he was co-head of equities at CRT Capital. Choi currently is chairman of the board at Cause and will continue to serve in that capacity. As president, Choi will oversee marketing strategy, business development, products and services. He also will lead the launch of Cause’s newest payment capability, “Scan-the-Brand,” a feature that enables consumers to make instant purchases from their phones by scanning the logos of their favorite brands. A percentage of every transaction made via the Cause wallet app is donated to the charity of the user’s choice. Users also can also set up crowdfunding campaigns with the Create a Campaign feature.
