People on the Move: Hillary Smith, Square Inc.
Square Inc. has hired Hillary Smith as the company’s general counsel. Smith brings to Square years of legal leadership experience, most recently as general counsel for cloud-based human resources services provider Zenefits. Prior to that, she was general counsel for SuccessFactors, Inc. and previously held legal positions with Right Media, Yahoo! and DoubleClick Inc. In 2012, Smith was named one of the San Francisco Business Times’ Most Influential Women in Business. She was also honored in 2004 by the New York County Lawyers’ Association as one of the Outstanding Women of the Bar and has served as a member of the Federal Bar Council Inns of Court Project and Women in Digital Media.
