People on the Move: Mastercard, Asia-Pacific Leadership
Mastercard has announced three new leadership appointments for its global products and solutions team in Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore.
The payments network has named Benjamin Gilbey as head, digital payments and labs, Asia-Pacific. In the role, Gilbey will be responsible for driving adoption across the region for Mastercard’s digital payments products. He will also oversee the Mastercard Labs innovation hub. Gilbey has more than a decade of experience in digital payments and product development, and over the past two years at Mastercard has been part of the team managing the rollout of the Masterpass digital payment service to merchants in the region.
Meanwhile, Jason Fryer has been named head, commercial payments solutions (product management), Asia-Pacific, leading the division’s growth strategy for the region. Fryer joins Mastercard with more than 25 years of global experience across a range of product, marketing and business development positions within the payments industry.
Finally, the company has appointed Angela Jones as head, prepaid and financial inclusion, Asia-Pacific. Jones will lead Mastercard’s prepaid strategy and expanding its financial inclusion efforts in the region. Jones has been with Mastercard for the past 16 years, holding multiple roles in sales and product management. Most recently, she has been responsible for overseeing Mastercard’s Smart Data suite of products globally.
