The Bancorp Hires Neurohr to Lead Compliance
With federal and state payments regulation in near-constant flux, compliance strategy continues to be of utmost importance, especially for issuers. Amid this landscape, The Bancorp has named Bill Neurohr to head its compliance operations and serve as the point man for the company’s interactions with regulators.
In the role of managing director, consumer compliance officer, Neurohr will be a member of The Bancorp’s management council and will report directly to Chief Operating Officer Hugh McFadden—keeping with the recommendation of many compliance experts, who list top-level executive involvement as a key element of an effective compliance strategy.
Neurohr has significant experience in compliance leadership positions, most recently serving as compliance director for Citi’s global consumer bank card organization, where he was responsible for managing the bank’s global compliance program—including areas such as risk assessment, monitoring and reporting, policy and procedure oversight, customer privacy and AML oversight.
Prior to joining Citi, Neurohr was compliance managing director and senior vice president and head of governance and practices for JPMorgan Chase’s global card and merchant services organizations. He also spent 14 years in various roles at Bank of America, ultimately leading the global corporate compliance monitoring and testing teams and operational risk management teams.
Bancorp won recognition for its compliance program in June 2016, when the company was named the recipient of the Data Integrity Compliance Award, presented by Mastercard. The award recognizes partners that meet the compliance standards of the payment network’s data integrity program.
