Oracle buys US firm DataScience
Oracle will acquire Los Angeles-based DataScience to bring the platform to its cloud for improved machine learning.
According to Oracle, teams use DataScience’s platform to organise work, access data and computing resources, and execute model development workflows.
Oracle says it embeds artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning capabilities across its Software-as-a-service (SaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions, including big data, analytics and security operations, to enable digital transformations.
Amit Zavery, EVP of Oracle Cloud Platform, says together, customers will be able to “harness a single data science platform to more effectively leverage machine learning and big data for predictive analysis and improved business results”.
Oracle adds that it is currently reviewing the existing DataScience product roadmap and will be providing guidance to customers in accordance with its “standard product communication policies”.
Any resulting features and timing of release of such features as determined by Oracle’s review of DataScience’s product roadmap are at the “sole discretion” of Oracle.
