BBVA selects NetApp as a strategic partner
BBVA and NetApp, the US-based data authority for hybrid cloud, have formed an alliance that makes NetApp a priority technological partner for BBVA.
The partnership is part of a series of strategic agreements the Spanish banking group is implementing to become a more flexible and scalable digital bank.
“This agreement is part of our strategy of partnering with global solutions providers to create a new ecosystem with large partners, capable of supporting our transformation process,” says Ignacio Bernal, head of global architecture at engineering at BBVA.
NetApp’s data services portfolio will play an essential role in the bank’s data strategy to meet the growing needs of the organisation to simplify and integrate data management across cloud and its premises to accelerate digital transformation.
“After many years of close collaboration between the two companies, it is a pleasure for us to join BBVA’s select group of strategic alliances to support the banking group’s digital transformation,” says Marc Montiel, vice president enterprise focus countries EMEA at NetApp.
The bank will be able to deliver consistent and integrated hybrid cloud data services for data visibility and insights, data access and control, data protection and security, to address the high demands on the company’s digital services.
Through this new agreement, BBVA continues to strengthen its network of alliances with priority technological partners, set up in 2016, that includes companies like Cisco, Red Hat, Salesforce, Amazon Web Services and IBM.
