Banco Itaú Suisse installs ERI private banking platform
Banco Itaú Suisse, the Swiss business of Latin American bank Itaú Unibanco, has chosen a private banking business system from software vendor ERI as part of a drive to make the Swiss unit a central hub for the Group’s European private banking business.
The vendor’s Olympic Banking System is already in use by Itaú Unibanco’s operations in the US and Luxembourg. The browser-based platform is designed on a modular basis, and is intended to support corporate banking, private wealth management, retail banking, central bank operations and Islamic finance. ERI markets the platform on its ability to reduce manual processes and increase efficiency through higher rates of STP, as well as its ability to integrate third-party applications.
For example, in private wealth management, the platform is designed to help automate processes and service provision, portfolio management, performance calculation, asset allocation and efficient customer relationship management. The Swiss division migrated to Olympic within four months.
Itaú Unibanco claims to be the largest Latin American bank, with approximately 96,000 employees and operations in 20 countries throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe. In Brazil, the bank has nearly 5,000 full-service branches and 28,000 ATMs. Banco Itaú Suisse provides Latin American clients with an international investment and wealth management platform, including exclusive funds.
