ING Bank Romania launches new mPOS service with GoSwiff and MasterCard
ING Bank Romania has launched a new mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) service, underpinned by MasterCard and specialist vendor GoSwiff.
ING mPOS is aimed at local merchants of all sizes. It enables them to accept card payments through mobile devices, smartphones and tablets, connected to a card reader.
It also supports other added-value services, such as consumer loyalty applications.
The first client of this new service is NN Life Insurance.
“ING mPOS is a method of payment advanced and simple at the same time,” comments Mihaela Bitu, head of wholesale banking, ING Bank.
“Mobile POS terminals have the potential to completely transform the payments ecosystem,” states Gabriel Ghiță, head of new business, CEE, MasterCard Europe. “Being a very efficient solution both operationally and financially, it has the potential to expand the footprint acceptance of electronic payments to areas previously financially excluded.”
Elsewhere, GoSwiff has teamed up with Indonesian telco Indosat Ooredoo for a new mPOS offering for merchants in Indonesia, D-Pay.
