Equens offers SEPA support to Dutch businesses
European payment processor Equens plans to offer a number of services to the Dutch business community to support them in the migration to Single Euro Payments Area formats
According to the latest SEPA Monitor survey results from the Dutch Central Bank show that many businesses have yet to choose how they will make the mandatory changes. The European Central Bank recently said that the speed of adoption of direct debits in line with the SEPA standards is “unacceptable” and urged regulators and payment service providers to make greater efforts to push the instrument or risk damaging the reputation of the scheme.
Equens’ Business Payments & Receipt service currently consists of three separate solutions that businesses can purchase either individually or as a package. The first of these services, Transaction Delivery, lets them send transactions to one or more banks via Equens. Account & Processing Information, is similar to the existing VerwInfo report service in use in the Netherlands, meaning that businesses do not need to make any systems changes for their internal processing and payments.
The third service is Format Conversion, which is self-descriptive.
Equens says that it plans to announce launch dates for the services shortly, to coincide “as closely as possible” with the Netherlands’ National SEPA Migration Plan.
